Hi, my name is Esme alias Brown Goose! I discovered patchwork and quilting by chance in 1997 when my eldest son was a baby. Although my first attempt wasn't much to write home about I was truly hooked. In 2007 I gained my City & Guilds Patchwork and Quilting Level 2 and after years of making quilts for friends and family my quilt addiction is ready to go public! I think that people need to be educated that patchwork is not just sewing squares together out of any old scraps. As well as a wonderful traditional craft with thousands of decorative designs to choose from, it is also recognised as an art form in its own right. I love to design quirky country style quilts based loosely on traditional patterns but I am no quilt snob! I also love purely traditional and art quilts.

As well as designing patterns I also take commissions, cot quilts in particular make a lovely gift that can be passed down to future generations. In the future I hope to branch out into art quilts. Meanwhile check out the Gallery and my new Journal Quilt blog! |
